Unstoppable Doom Patrol! is a massive departure from the Young Animals version. The main difference from previous versions is that the team now has a unified goal.

With this massive shift in focus, Unstoppable gives us a more cohesive version of the team with a common goal. This shift in tone opens up the team to explore more lighthearted affairs, allowing them to delve into a wider area of the DC Universe.
What sets this series apart from others is the makeup of the team. The usual crew is present, but it now includes Jane and a new Chief-like personality, Beast Girl, and Degenerate. The new team allows the series to move away from eccentric adventures to a rooted goal of saving metahumans.
The departure from the typical Doom Patrol series may be a bit jarring for some, but the inclusion of Crazy Jane, Robot Man, Negative Man, and Elasti-Girl still keeps the dysfunctional shenanigans while allowing for a structured narrative.
Overall, the series is a fun read, especially for new and old Doom Patrol fans. The inclusion of new members opens the story up to explore new areas and ideas. The story that Culver and Burnham are cultivating is off to a great start, and their work complements each other nicely.
