We found out back in July via The “Still Watching” podcast that Corey Stoll would be returning to the MCU in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. But while most assumed Stoll would return as his Yellow Jacket alter ego, multiple sources have informed GWW that he will actually be portraying a different character this time around.

MCU Direct reported M.O.D.O.K. would be joining the cast of Ant-Man 3 and while there was wild speculation and rumors that Jim Carey would be taking this role we have now learned that in fact Cory Stoll will be playing M.O.D.O.K. in the Ant-Man threequel.
When we actually think about it, this makes perfect sense for not only Stoll’s character but the franchise as a whole. Last time we saw Yellow Jacket he had been shrunk down and sent to what we would now assume is the Quantum Zone. Meaning he is not only alive but would have access to an entire universe of possibilities. It also is a nice way to have the franchise go full circle with bringing Stoll back in another iconic role.
In the comics M.O.D.O.K. was George Tarleton, a scientist for A.I.M. who used mutagenics to turn himself into the Mental Organism Designed Only For Killing. We also saw this origin play out in Square Enix’s recent Avengers game. But it appears the MCU will have a different take on the character and instead Darren Cross will become the Mental Organism Designed Only For Killing.
Unfortunately, this is all the information we have at this time, and we have no idea if MODOK is working with Kang, if there are in opposition, or really anything surrounding the plot or development of this specific character, but I’m sure time will provide all the answers.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters on July 28th, 2023
