Overview:

Danny’s journey takes an intriguing turn as he begins to embrace his extraordinary powers. An enigmatic figure from his past resurfaces, assuming the role of guide through the countless imagined worlds. Amidst this odyssey, Danny encounters familiar faces and iconic characters from the annals of Image Comics. Yet, before he can find acceptance within the realm of imagination, Danny faces a formidable task, proving his worthiness.

Review:

Something Epic has consistently delivered a fascinating adventure, and its latest chapter is no exception. Like its predecessors, this issue is full of references and subtle nuances that enrich the storytelling. The narrative picks up with Danny still within the eerie confines of the house that we left him in at the end of the last issue. An elderly gentleman, likely the same man we saw in the series debut, comes to Danny’s aid, assisting him to escape the house. Their journey continues within a self-driving-flying car capable of speech, a testament to the interplay between reality and imagination that has been previously hinted at.

What follows is a kaleidoscope of different worlds and creations with an explanation of what or who they are. After a brief encounter with a giant gorilla, Danny sets off to the temple of dreams and nightmares. Here, an intriguing challenge manifests in the form of an unfinished 8-bit game. Success in this trial promises Danny the privilege of staying within the realm of imagination.

Final Thoughts:

Something Epic continues to be excellent and well worth your time, the art is truly exceptional and the story divulges enough with every issue to keep you entertained and coming back for more. If you have not yet picked up this epic book, you are truly missing out on possibly the best comic of the year.
